Free @Bethlehem Books!

Bethlehem Books is a small, home grown publishing company dedicated to restoring to children and families a treasury of wholesome, character-building literature. Each month they offer an ebook format free. Their books are divided by Time and Place, Age Interest, Series and Specific Interest. They publish true historical fiction, adventure tales, biographies, and family stories. You can purchase printed books as well as the ebook. They just started adding the ebook format in 2011 so not all books are yet available in this format but this is their goal to make all these solid long lost books available again.

I have started saving each month's book in a special folder for my grandkids. April's book was 'The Stubborn Mare' and it is 5th grade reading level, but Isa, who is in 2nd grade, was thrilled with this book and reading it on the 'new technology' instead of the printed page was very appealing to her. We had a grand time reading it together.

This month's free book is 'Toward Oregon' by E.H. Stafflebach
You are given a choice for epub or mobi.

Happy downloading!

  1. Hi Peggy,

Anything which gets kids interest in reading stimulated is a great idea, although there is still something magical about having a child turn the pages of a printed book and read aloud to you from the page, especially if there are illustrations which just aren't the same on an electronic version.

I can remember long ago as a child, how much I used to like to just look at my books arranged on the shelves .. and to be honest, that feeling is just the same today.
